Image series

Backdrop: Grounding the Spectacle, is made up of a series of appropriated photographic image found on the internet. The selection represents events of public punishment from the vantage point of a spectator – crowd. In this sequence of digitally altered and re-constituted images, the victims, including Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI, Charlotte Corday, Georges Cadoudal, and Maximilien Robespierre are removed, creating a void for any one of us to fill.
